[ Of course, there is a moment where he meets eyes of another across the marketplace. Staring right back, bright turquoise eyes burning through the crowd and to her. ]

     Stop staring.

[ Oh, well, she didn’t think he’d notice her staring.  She averts her eyes with a shy flicker of her mandibles and murmurs an apology. ]

Sorry about that.  Just killing time ‘til my lunch break is over.  Didn’t mean to disturb you or anything.

[ After a moment he lays eyes on a turian a little ways away, and he keeps his gaze trained on her until he catches her looking up at him again. His eyebrow raises and he keeps staring at her, but doesn’t say anything just yet. ]

[ And she has the worst luck ever.  He catches her once when she flicks her eyes up, theirs meeting in that awkward contact she was expecting.  She freezes.  She blinks.  Her mandibles flick.  She doesn’t break eye contact.  After clearing her throat, she gives a respectful nod, turning her eyes away for only a second, flicking them back to find him still staring at her. ]

"STOP CALLING ME ONE OF THEM!" he barked, more than willing to get loud. "I don’t care what I look like under these clothes. I don’t care if the damn council sees me as a Marauder, I’M NOT ONE!!!" he hissed, doing everything in his power not to hit the woman.

"IT’S NOT MY DAMN FAULT! Stop blaming me for something I have NO control over!"

[ She didn’t look at him, damn impoliteness.  The next thing that was going to come out of her mouth was going to be yelling, and she did not need the C-Sec superiors on her ass.  Not now.  Not when she had just reminded herself of how long it had actually been since she had heard from her mother.  She had begun to worry underneath the anger.  She took a sip of her tea, her anger brimming just below her calm exterior. ]

”If you keep yelling like that, C-Sec is going to jump on you again.  And it will be no one’s fault but your own.”  [ She takes another sip of tea. ]  ”And I can’t not call you what you are.”

[ He placed his order and set the menu aside, focusing on the lakes out in front of him. Ryan could definitely see the appeal of the area, and understood why Liara came here so often. But suddenly that feeling came back and it made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. He started looking around to find who was still watching him. ]

[ Shit, shit, shit, he was looking around.  Quickly, the turian diverts her eyes to the tea lightly steaming in front of her, but her green eyes quickly dart back and forth between it and him, wondering if he had caught her yet.  And yet she knew she would if he had when the two made eye contact.  Very awkward eye contact.  Oh, Spirits… ]

          And I hate drinking.
Well, ‘hate’ is a pretty strong word.
But I’m not as fond of it now.

[ She raises a brow plate. ]  Everything alright, Val?

twisted-and-cynical-turian:

"Oh so you’re not going to have them jump on me this time?" he growled, rather angry at the woman. "Good. I would have a hard time explaining to my better half why some witch like you hated me based on what I am." he hissed, more than just angry at her.

"But, you know what, I’m sure you don’t like other creatures. Maybe Palaven is the better place for you to be right now."

[ She snorts derisively, her mandibles flaring out widely and then clutching tightly back to her face.  Her green eyes are bright green with anger roiling in her chest.  If she speaks without thinking, she’s going to yell.  So she chooses her words very carefully. ]

”Excuse the fuck out of you.  That was my colleagues noticing a fellow officer in distress.  That had nothing to do with me.  And as for Palaven, I tried to stay.  But my mother forced me offworld just before the Reapers attacked, and now she’s fucking stuck there with creatures like you threatening her life every second of every day.  I haven’t spoken with her in weeks.  I don’t even know if she’s still alive!  And I have your kind to thank for that.”  [ Realizing her voice was rising and she was also rising out of her chair, she blows an angry sigh out of her nostrils and sits herself down, staring at the part-turian with the same fierce green eyes as before. ]

[ He sits down at a table to look over a menu, briefly taking breaks to glare at any other patrons who thought it would be a good idea to stare at him. Even after making all of them mind their own business, he can’t shake the feeling that he’s being watched… ]

[ Yes, she saw the Commander sit down and look up over his menu and glare at everyone that was staring at him, including her.  But no, that did not deter her from continuing to watch him, and not very discreetly.  And she felt even creepier for it.  She hoped that he didn’t actually catch her staring.  Spirits, that would be embarrassing. ]

twisted-and-cynical-turian:

He decided to purchase the clothing. Favoring not having something torn and ripped to shreds by his own metal talons. Didn’t help the clothing was also dirty from sleeping on the ground.

A few moments later the turian was walking near Lys, guarding the bag closely as if afraid someone would steal it. Then he saw the woman and froze. “Shit, don’t sick your gun happy lackey’s on me”

[ She pretended not to notice him, she really did.  But when he was walking right next to her and noticing her and addressing her, it was impolite to not at least look at him while he was speaking to her.

But she had no desire to speak with him.  Not at all.  Not unless she wanted to cause a scene in the middle of the Presidium and risk her job.  So she simply shot the part-turian a fierce glare and fixed him with it for as long as she saw fit.  Which was a long few minutes. ]
